The Community Fund joins thousands of donations to form a single, powerful financial resource that enables United Way to guide and bring to scale many of our region’s best-performing nonprofit programs. Through the Bay Area Community Fund, United Way supports more than 250 local programs that fight poverty and create opportunities for children, youth, families and neighborhoods to thrive.
Children and Youth - Children are ready to learn and succeed and youth have safe, supportive learning environments.
We focus on helping them meet benchmarks at life stages from early childhood to early adulthood. Our goal is to ensure all children graduate healthy and ready for adulthood. Strategies include:

- Professional Development Opportunities for Educators and Service Providers
- School Community Partnerships
- Youth Development – Prevention and Intervention Programs
Families - Low-wage families are able to meet basic needs and climb the economic ladder.
We focus on providing individuals and families with opportunities for job skills training programs, financial education, savings and asset-building activities that help them move toward financial stability. Strategies include:

Neighborhoods and Community - Neighborhood organizations are working well together to serve local residents and effectively address community needs.
We focus on ensuring that the infrastructure and level of volunteer support for Bay Area nonprofits grows and remains ready to meet community needs. We also work to ensure that the Bay Area is prepared for disaster and crises and can easily connect to community services through the 2-1-1 Information & Referral telephone service. |
